A method of treating a potato storage shed with aerosol of the sprout inhibitor CIPC (isopropyl N-chlorophenylcarbamate) comprises the steps of firstly melting solid CIPC 10 in a heated zone 11 to a temperature of greater than about 41 {C, and collecting the molten CIPC in a reservoir 12, where it is maintained at a temperature of above about 41 {C.
