We present newly calibrated period–ϕ 31–[Fe/H] relations for fundamental-mode RR Lyrae stars in the optical and, for the first time, mid-infrared. This work’s calibration data set provides the largest and most comprehensive span of parameter space to date, with homogeneous metallicities from −3 ≲ [Fe/H] ≲ 0.4 and accurate Fourier parameters derived from 1980 ASAS-SN (V band) and 1083 WISE (NEOWISE extension, W1 and W2 bands) RR Lyrae stars with well-sampled light curves. We compare our optical… Expand

Metallicity Estimation of RR Lyrae Stars From Their I-Band Light Curves
We have revisited the problem of metallicity prediction of RR Lyrae stars from their near-infrared light curves in the Cousins I wave band. Our study is based on high-quality time series photometryExpand
On the Use of Field RR Lyrae as Galactic Probes. V. Optical and Radial Velocity Curve Templates
We collected the largest spectroscopic catalog of RR Lyrae (RRLs) including ≈20,000 high-, medium-, and low-resolution spectra for ≈10,000 RRLs. We provide the analytical forms of radial velocityExpand
Variable Stars in Local Group Galaxies. VI. The Isolated Dwarfs VV 124 and KKr 25
We present the discovery of variable stars in two isolated dwarf galaxies in the outskirts of the Local Group, VV 124 and KKr 25, using observations with the Hubble Space Telescope. VV 124 hostsExpand

On a new theoretical framework for RR Lyrae stars II: Mid--Infrared Period--Luminosity--Metallicity Relations
We present new theoretical period-luminosity-metallicity (PLZ) relations for RR Lyrae stars (RRL) at Spitzer and WISE wavelengths. The PLZ relations were derived using nonlinear, time-dependentExpand
Standard Galactic field RR Lyrae II: a Gaia DR2 calibration of the period–Wesenheit–metallicity relation
RR Lyrae stars have long been popular standard candles, but significant advances in methodology and technology have been made in recent years to increase their precision as distance indicators. WeExpand
The wide-field synoptic sky surveys, known as the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) and the intermediate Palomar Transient Factory (iPTF), will accumulate a large number of known and new RR Lyrae.Expand
Spectroscopic Comparison of Metal-Rich RRab Stars of the Galactic Field with Their Metal-Poor Counterparts
We investigate atmospheric properties of 35 stable RRab stars that possess the full ranges of period, light amplitude, and metal abundance found in Galactic RR Lyrae stars. Our results are derivedExpand
BVI Time-Series Data of the Galactic Globular Cluster NGC 3201. I. RR Lyrae Stars
We present Johnson BV- and Kron-Cousins I-band time-series data collected over three consecutive nights in a region of 13 arcmin2 centered on the Galactic globular cluster (GGC) NGC 3201. The timeExpand
The composition of HB stars : RR Lyrae variables
We used moderately high-resolution, high S/N spectra to study the chemical composition of 10 field ab-type RR Lyrae stars. A new temperature scale was determined from literature Infrared Flux MethodExpand
