Incubation of 2-amino-3-phosphono[3-14C]propionic acid with cell-free preparations of Tetrahymena pyriformis resulted in incorporation of the radioactivity into phosphoenolpyruvate. No radioactivity was incorporated into phosphoenolpyruvate and 2-phosphonoacetate.
