Metabolism and bioactivation of 3-methylindole (3MI) were investigated in human liver microsomes. The metabolism of two deuterium-labeled analogues of 3MI permitted a relatively unambiguous identification of multiple metabolites and glutathione (GSH) adducts of reactive intermediates.
