We have evaluated the potential metabolic effects of the aqueous extract of Sapindus trifoliatus [(ST), (family: Sapindaceae)], a traditional phytomedicine used in the treatment of migraine and other CNS disorders. ST (at 100 mg/kg, i.p. dose) was evaluated for its effect on glucose, triglycerides and total cholesterol in mice and rats. The effect on glucose disposal also carried out in male Wistar rats.
