2453 Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity is required for tumour growth and metastasis. This study assessed the expression of membrane-type MMP1 (MT1-MMP) in human Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) specimens and paired histologically normal lung tissue. Analysis of cell lines, xenografts and 39 NSCLC specimens (representative of all stages and grades), as well as corresponding normal lung tissue, was undertaken by quantitative Real Time PCR (qRT-PCR). MT1-MMP was found to be overexpressed… Expand
The expression and regulation of membranetype matrix metalloproteinases (MT-MMPS) in prostate cancer

This is the first study to report MT1-M MP mRNA expression in LNCaP cells and MT3-MMP mRNA in DU-145 cells, and results indicate thatMT1- andMT3- MMP were detected in all cell lines, which is a key role in tumour cell invasion. Expand
