The morphological and electrophysiological properties of neurons in the intermediolateral nucleus (IML) were studied in the transverse and longitudinal slice of guinea-pig thoracic spinal cord (T2-T3) using intracellular staining and recording techniques. Two morophologically different types of neurons were observed: fusiform cells with craniocaudally oriented dendrites, and multipolar cells with dendrites diffusely extending in the IML.
