Aortic depressor nerve discharge (AND), lumbar sympathetic nerve discharge (SND), and single-unit activity of medullospinal pressure-sensitive neurons of nucleus paragigantocellularis lateralis (PGCL neurons) were recorded in halothane-anesthetized 16-wk-old spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) and normotensive Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats.
