Surgical, laser, and pharmacological therapies are all used to correct scars and surgical incisions, though have limits with respect to how well facial skin can be restored or enhanced. The use of cosmetics has long been a relevant adjunct to all scar treatment modalities. In recent years, technical advancements in the chemistry and composition of cosmetic products have provided the patient with a broader range of products to employ for concealing scars. Nonsurgical Scar Management and Camouflage Techniques
TLDR
Patients need to be advised of this long process of scarring, and must maintain a high degree of patience and motivation, as it matures over a 12- to 24-month period.
Improvement of disfiguring skin conditions by laser therapy
TLDR
A review of laser therapy for the treatment of scars, of benign dermal tumours, and of port-wine stains showed the pulsed dye laser most effective in hypertrophic scars, although it was found that the Nd:YAG laser is a good option for the Treatment of hypertrophy in port- wine stains.
Availability of cosmetic treatment using novel cosmetics-based material on patients with craniofacial concavity.
TLDR
The results suggest that the cosmetic treatment with the novel cosmetics-based material can be used as a subsidiary method for facial prostheses or an independent new method for correcting patients' small craniofacial concavity and for reducing visible deformity.
A Corrective Cosmetic Improves the Quality of Life and Skin Quality of Subjects with Facial Blemishes Caused by Skin Disorders
TLDR
The tested corrective cosmetic significantly improved the QOL of subjects with significant facial flaws, skin tautness and dryness, and was well tolerated.
Camouflage makeup improves quality of life in cancer patients with treatment-related skin changes
TLDR
Camouflage makeup was able to conceal almost all skin changes, improving quality of life (QoL) scores regardless of age, diagnosis, and site of skin changes; and had a positive effect even in patients with changes in unexposed sites.

Spoofing faces using makeup: An investigative study
TLDR
This work analyzes the potential of using makeup for spoofing an identity, where an individual attempts to impersonate another person's facial appearance, and studies the impact of makeup-induced face spoofing on automated face recognition.
Development of photosynthetic sutures for the local delivery of oxygen and recombinant growth factors in wounds.
TLDR
The results suggest that photosynthetic gene therapy could be used to produce a new generation of bioactive sutures with improved healing capacities, and this novel concept has never been explored before for this type of material.
