We compile a complete collection of 18 recent (from 2000 to 2017) measurements of Θ0$\varTheta_{0}$, the rotational velocity of the Milky Way at R0$R_{0}$ (the radial distance of the Sun from the Galactic center). These measurements use tracers that are believed to more accurately reflect the systematic rotation of the Milky Way. Unlike other recent compilations of Θ0$\varTheta_{0}$, our collection includes only independent measurements. We find that these 18 measurements are distributed in a… Expand

Gaussian processes, median statistics, Milky Way rotation curves
• Physics
• 2019
We use the Iocco et al. (2015) compilation of 2,780 circular velocity measurements to analyze the Milky Way rotation curve. We find that the error bars for individual measurements are non-gaussian,Expand
Median Statistics Analysis of Deuterium Abundance Measurements and Spatial Curvature Constraints
• Physics
• 2018
Zavarygin et al. (2018) compiled a list of 15 deuterium abundance measurements, discarded two because the remaining 13 measurements are then consistent with gaussianity, and found that the weightedExpand
The Imprint of Spiral Arms on the Galactic Rotation Curve
We discuss a model for the Milky Way obtained by fitting the observed terminal velocities with the radial acceleration relation. The resulting stellar surface density profile departs from a smoothExpand
A meta-analysis of neutron lifetime measurements
• Physics
• 2018
We calculated the median as well as weighted mean central estimates for the neutron lifetime, from a subset of measurements compiled in the 2019 update of the Particle Data Group (PDG). We thenExpand
Spitzer Microlensing Parallax for OGLE-2017-BLG-0896 Reveals a Counter-rotating Low-mass Brown Dwarf
The kinematics of isolated brown dwarfs in the Galaxy, beyond the solar neighborhood, is virtually unknown. Microlensing has the potential to probe this hidden population, as it can measure both theExpand
GalDynPsr: A package to estimate dynamical contributions in the rate of change of the period of radio pulsars
• Physics
• 2017
The observed values of the rate of change of the orbital and the spin period of pulsars are affected by different dynamical effects, including the differential acceleration at the location of theExpand

Median Statistics Estimate of the Distance to the Galactic Center
• Physics

We show that error distributions of a compilation of 28 recent independent measurements of the distance from the Sun to the Galactic center, $R_{0}$, are wider than a standard Gaussian and best fitExpand
Recent advances in the determination of some Galactic constants in the Milky Way
Here we statistically evaluate recent advances in determining the Sun-Galactic Center distance (Rsun$R_{\mathit{sun}}$) as well as recent measures of the orbital velocity around the Galactic CenterExpand

Clustering of Local Group distances: publication bias or correlated measurements? V. Galactic rotation constants

As part of on an extensive data mining effort, we have compiled a database of 162 Galactic rotation speed measurements at $R_0$ (the solar Galactocentric distance), $\Theta_0$. Published between 1927Expand
Kinematic analysis of solar-neighborhood stars based on RAVE4 data
• Physics

We consider stars with radial velocities, proper motions, and distance estimates from the RAVE4 catalogue. Based on a sample of more than 145 000 stars at distances r < 0.5 kpc, we have found theExpand
The Milky Way's rotation curve out to 100 kpc and its constraint on the Galactic mass distribution
The rotation curve (RC) of the Milky Way out to $\sim$ 100 kpc has been constructed using $\sim$ 16,000 primary red clump giants (PRCGs) in the outer disk selected from the LSS-GAC and theExpand
