Abstract Cesium salts of Cs 2 SO 4 , Cs 2 CO 3 and CsHSO 4 and phosphotungstic acid (H 3 PW 12 O 40 ·6H 2 O:WPA·6H 2 O) were mechanically milled to synthesize chemically durable WPA composites. The X-ray diffraction patterns of composites suggested the formation of partially substituted Cs x H 3 −  x PW 12 O 40 composites after milling at 720 rpm for 10 min.
