Abstract

Two enzymes are responsible for the cleavage of pregnane side chains. A steroid-inducible oxygenase, in the presence of reduced nicotinamide adenine trinucleotide and molecular oxygen, catalyzes the conversion of progesterone into testosterone acetate.
