Earlier obtained results on mechanical analogies of physical fields and particles are reviewed. The approach rests on the concept of the substratum - a mechanical medium, which occupies all the space and serves as a seat to support the light and to transmit interactions. A turbulent ideal fluid was chosen for the substratum. The turbulence is supposed to be homogeneous and isotropic in its ground state. Perturbations of the turbulence model physical fields. Particles originate from the voids in…

Towards an exact mechanical analogy of particles and fields

SummaryAn exact analogy of electromagnetic fields and particles can be found in continuum mechanics of a turbulent perfect fluid with voids. Deviations of the turbulence from a homogeneous isotropic

Mechanical Analogies for the Lorenz Gauge, Particles and Antiparticles

An exact analogy of electromagnet ic fields and particles can be found in m echanics of a turbulent ideal fluid with voids. The system is supposed to form a fine dispersion of voids in the fluid.

Towards a Mechanical Analogy of a Quantum Particle: Turbulent Advection of a Fluid Discontinuity and Schroedinger Mechanics

A discontinuity of a turbulent ideal fluid is considered. It is supposed to be split and dispersed, or spread in the stochastic environment forming a gas without hydrostatic pressure. Two equal-mass

TLDR
The behavior of a tangle of quantized vortex lines subject to uniform superfluid and normal-fluid driving velocities is investigated and the quantitative results obtained are found to be in excellent absolute agreement with a large variety of experiments, including recent studies of the vortex-tangle anisotropy.

Mechanical analogies for gravitation

A quasielastic model of gravitation is developed. Gravitational field is modeled by the flow of the transient point dilatation, which is supposed to be continually emitted by a discontinuity of the

Particles and Charges in the Vortex Sponge

Abstract The vortex sponge, which postulates a steady state of vortex turbulence in an ideal fluid, is a substratum invented to explicate parsimoniously "action at a distance" and especially vacuum

Quantum cavitation in superfluid helium 4 ?

We have observed the nucleation of bubbles in superfluid helium-4 at negative pressure and at temperatures down to 65 mK. Cavitation is found to be a random process. Above 1 K, its probability varies
