In this study, microtremor records measured with a 3-component seismometer in Batman city center, which was established on the plain, were evaluated for the geological structure of the region and soil forming units. The measurements obtained from the field survey were evaluated with the Geopsy program by using the horizontal/vertical spectral ratio (Nakamura 1989 ) and the geological condition of the area and soil dominant frequency were determined. Soil characteristics of Batman City, which is…

Microtremor measurements used to map thickness of soft sediments
The observations about the behavior of microtremor spectra presented here show that noise measurements can be used as a powerful tool to determine the thickness of soft cover layers. The most

Site effects on earthquake ground motion based on microtremor measurements for metropolitan Beijing
A campaign of microtremor measurements was conducted in summer 2007 for assessing local site effects of seismic strong ground motion in metropolitan Beijing. Using the measurements from over 600

Imaging the graben structure in the deep basin with a microtremor profile crossing the Yinchuan City
Microtremor studies were originated in Japan and have gained broader recognition in studying the site effect in earthquake strong ground motion. In recent years, microtremors have also been used in
Site Effect Study in Urban Area: Experimental Results in Grenoble (France)
Abstract — Three methods are used to determine the site effect in the town of Grenoble, located in the Western Alps. First we use the classical spectral ratio method in 14 sites to calculate the
