The paper proposes two new approaches for measuring adaptation between dialogs. These approaches permit measurement of adaptation both to conversational partner (partner adaptation) and to the local dialog context ( recency adaptation ), and can be used with different types of feature. We used these measures to study adaptation in the Maptask corpus of spoken dialogs.
