A measurement of the jet mass distribution in hadronic decays of Lorentz-boosted top quarks is presented. The measurement is performed in the lepton+jets channel of top quark pair production (t t) events, where the lepton is an electron or muon. The products of the hadronic top quark decay are reconstructed using a single large-radius jet with transverse momentum greater than 400 GeV. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions and correspond to an…

Studies of top quark properties in CMS

In this article, recent studies of top quark properties in CMS are presented. The discussed analyses are measurements of the charge asymmetry, CP violation and jet mass, all carried out in final

Measurement of the Jet Mass Distribution and Top Quark Mass in Hadronic Decays of Boosted Top Quarks in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13  TeV.

A novel jet reconstruction technique is used for the first time at the LHC, which improves the precision by a factor of 3 relative to an earlier measurement.

Measurement of the jet mass in highly boosted tt¯ events from pp collisions at s=8 TeV

The first measurement of the jet mass m jet of top quark jets produced in tt events from pp collisions at √ s = 8 TeV is reported for the jet with the largest transverse momentum p T in highly boosted

Measurements of single-, double-, and triple-differential cross-sections are presented for boosted top-quark pair-production in 13 TeV proton–proton collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at the

Jet energy scale and resolution in the CMS experiment in pp collisions at 8 TeV

Improved jet energy scale corrections, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass

Measurement of the inclusive t¯t production cross section in p¯p collisions at √s=1.96 TeV and determination of the top quark pole mass

The inclusive cross section of top quark-antiquark pairs produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV is measured in lepton$+$jets and dilepton decay channels. The data sample corresponds

Identification of heavy-flavour jets with the CMS detector in pp collisions at 13 TeV

Many measurements and searches for physics beyond the standard model at the LHC rely on the efficient identification of heavy-flavour jets, i.e. jets originating from bottom or charm quarks. In this

Observation of the Top Quark.

The D0 collaboration reports on a search for the Standard Model top quark in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.8 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron, with an integrated luminosity of approximately 50

W+ W- production at hadron colliders in next to next to leading order QCD.

Comparing different definitions of top-free W+ W- production in the four and five flavor number schemes, it is demonstrated that top-quark resonances can be separated from the inclusive W- cross section without a significant loss of theoretical precision.
