The aim of the current study was to examine whether the measurement of intrauterine human decidua-associated protein (hDP) 200 might be of clinical value in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy versus early missed abortion. Uterine fluid levels of hDP 200 were measured in two groups of patients: 20 women with ectopic pregnancy, diagnosed by laparoscopy, and 20 women diagnosed (after curettage) as having a missed abortion. No significant difference in hDP 200 levels was observed comparing patients… Expand

TLDR
The survey of diphyllidean cestodes of the Gulf of California has resulted in a new host record for Echinobothrium for each of the host species mentioned above, with Rhinobatos and Urobatis representing new host genera and Urolophidae a newhost family forEchinobothsrium. Expand

Three New Genera and Six New Species of Lecanicephalideans (Cestoda) from Eagle Rays of the Genus Aetomylaeus (Myliobatiformes: Myliobatidae) from Northern Australia and Borneo
TLDR
New lecanicephalidean cestodes inhabiting the spiral intestine were investigated in 4 of the 6 known species of eagle rays of the genus Aetomylaeus Garman, establishing species of AetOMylaeus as hosts of lecan icephalideans. Expand

The use of hCG and other pregnancy proteins in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.
TLDR
It is recommended that a patient with an elevated hCG level in whom an intrauterine pregnancy has been excluded should be carefully followed-up as long as hCG remains elevated because of the possibility of an early ectopic pregnancy. Expand
Is maternal serum creatine kinase actually a marker for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy?
TLDR
The data suggest that serum CK level is not discriminative in the early diagnosis of tubal pregnancy, contrary to the first report of Lavie et al. Expand
Rapid diagnosis of early ectopic pregnancy in an emergency gynaecology service--are measurements of progesterone, intact and free beta human chorionic gonadotrophin helpful?
TLDR
There was a degree of overlap such that it was impossible to devise a cut-off level for any hormone analysed, either singly or in combination, which would offer a clinically useful predictor of outcome. Expand
Further observations on serial human chorionic gonadotropin patterns in ectopic pregnancies and spontaneous abortions.
TLDR
The half-life of hCG was measured retrospectively in paired blood samples from 108 pregnancies with falling hCG levels and chorionic villi were recovered from 76% of the women who had a curettage, and failure to detect villi was more than 80% predictive of an ectopic pregnancy. Expand
Failure of creatine kinase to predict ectopic pregnancy.
TLDR
Investigation of serum creatine kinase levels in pregnant women with ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous abortion, and normal pregnancy with comparable serum hCG concentrations finds Creatine kinase does not appear to be useful in the diagnosis of early EP. Expand
Transvaginal sonography and human chorionic gonadotrophin measurements in suspected ectopic pregnancy: a detailed analysis of a diagnostic approach.
TLDR
The low HCG cut-off levels advocated in recent studies are questioned by the results of the analysis: whereas the combined use of sonography and HCG measurements is shown to be of great benefit, the limitations are also documented, underlining the need for re-evaluation at intervals of patients withLow HCG values. Human decidua-associated protein hDP200 in menstrual fluid: comparison between fertile women and women after failed in-vitro fertilization/embryo transfer treatment.
TLDR
Findings support the concept that adequate endometrial function, as evaluated by menstrual fluid concentration of hDP200, is important for the success of the fertility process. Expand
Transvaginal sonography and serum hCG in monitoring of presumed ectopic pregnancies selected for expectant management
TLDR
Transvaginal sonography monitoring appears useful in recognizing the ectopic pregnancies most likely to resolve spontaneously without complications, and has a sensitivity and specificity of 100% in predicting spontaneous resolution. Expand
Uterine fluid human decidua-associated protein 200 and implantation after embryo transfer.
TLDR
Results indicate that hDP 200, identified as a rheumatoid factor secreted by the endometrium, may be involved in the implantation process. Expand
Maternal serum creatine kinase: a possible predictor of tubal pregnancy.
TLDR
It is concluded that a high serum creatine kinase level can be an important diagnostic test in the evaluation of a suspected tubal pregnancy. Expand
