}Mature dendritic cells (DCs) are stimulators of T-cell immune response, whereas immature DCs support T-cell tolerance. Murine B cells can inhibit the production of IL-12 by DCs and thereby hinder the inflammatory response. Notwithstanding the importance of this modulation, only a few studies are available in humans. Here, we have developed an in vitro model of cocultures to assess its significance. We establish that human activated B cells restrained the development of monocytes into immature…

Human B cells induce dendritic cell maturation and favour Th2 polarization by inducing OX-40 ligand.
- BiologyNature communications
- 2014
It is demonstrated that activated but not resting B cells induce maturation of DCs with distinct features to polarize Th2 cells that secrete interleukin (IL)-5, IL-4 and IL-13, and this suggests that B cells have the ability to control their own effector functions by enhancing the ability of human DCs to mediate Th2 differentiation.
Induction of human dendritic cell maturation by naïve and memory B-cell subsets requires different activation stimuli
- BiologyCellular & Molecular Immunology
- 2018
It is shown that for human B cells to induce maturation of DCs with an enhanced T-cell stimulatory capacity, B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling is sufficient for memory B-cells, whereas additional CD40 signaling is required for naïve B cells, and that the B- cell-mediated regulation of DC function may depend on the activation signals received by B cells.
Dendritic cells license regulatory B cells to produce IL-10 and mediate suppression of antigen-specific CD8 T cells

It is shown that natural protection from type 1 diabetes in nonobese diabetic (NOD) mice is associated with increased numbers of IL-10-producing B cells, while development of type 2 diabetes in NOD mice occurs in animals with compromised IL- 10 production by B cells.
Role of IL‐6 in dendritic cell functions
- BiologyJournal of leukocyte biology
- 2021
The role of IL‐ 6, when generated in an inflammatory context or as derived from DCs, in modulating the biologic function and activation status of DCs is reviewed and the importance of searching for novel strategies to target the IL‐6/IL‐6 signaling pathway as a means to diminish the inflammatory activity ofDCs in immune response or to prime the immunogenic activity of DC's in immunosuppressive conditions is emphasized.

Helicobacter-stimulated IL-10-producing B cells suppress differentiation of lipopolysaccharide/Helicobacter felis-activated stimulatory dendritic cells
- Biology, MedicineTurkish journal of biology = Turk biyoloji dergisi
- 2021
It is shown that direct stimulation of bone marrow-derived DCs with Helicobacter felis antigen upregulates their CD86 surface expression and causes the production of interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleokin-12 ( IL-12), and interleucin-10 (IL– B) and DCs exhibit a tolerogenic phenotype in response to LPS or Helicobacteria antigen.

Cellular and molecular cross talk between basophils and CD4+ T cells
- Biology
- 2014
The results indicated that unlike other immune cells that aresusceptible to Treg-mediated suppression, basophils are refractory to regulatory mechanism of Tregs, and on the contrary it was found that T cells could promote activation of basophil functions.
B cells expressing CD11b effectively inhibit CD4+ T‐cell responses and ameliorate experimental autoimmune hepatitis in mice
- Biology, MedicineHepatology
- 2015
It is shown that B cells ameliorated experimental AIH (EAH) by suppressing CD4+ T‐cell responses and that CD11b expression on B cells was required for the regulatory function of B cells.

Induction of tolerance by IL-10-treated dendritic cells.
- Biology, MedicineJournal of immunology
- 1997
It is demonstrated that immature DC, harvested on days 9 to 11 and exposed to IL-10 for the last 2 days of culture, show a strongly reduced capacity to stimulate a CD4+ T cell response in an allogeneic MLR in a dose-dependent manner, and data suggest thatIL-10 converts immature DC into tolerogenic APC, which might be a useful tool in the therapy of patients with autoimmune or allergic diseases.
B Lymphocytes Regulate Dendritic Cell (Dc) Function in Vivo
- BiologyThe Journal of experimental medicine
- 2000
The data suggest that B lymphocytes regulate the capacity of DCs to promote IL-4 secretion, possibly by downregulating their secretion of IL-12, thereby favoring the induction of a nonpolarized immune response.
Dendritic cell-derived IL-12 promotes B cell induction of Th2 differentiation: a feedback regulation of Th1 development.

B cells preactivated in the presence of dendritic cells from IL-12-/- mice show little IL-4-inducing activity when used to activate T cells, indicating that immune regulation is initiated by IL- 12 and therefore represents a feedback loop to temper its own dominant effect (IFN-gamma induction).
