Interferometry with trapped atomic Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) requires the development of techniques to recombine the two paths of the interferometer and map the accumulated phase difference to a measurable atom number difference. We have implemented and compared two recombining procedures in a double-well based BEC interferometer. The first procedure utilizes the bosonic Josephson effect and controlled tunneling of atoms through the potential barrier, similar to laser light in an optical…

We investigate Landau-Zener-St\"uckelberg-Majorana (LZSM) interferometry in a nonlinear two-level system subjected to a sinusoidal driving field. A comprehensive analysis for the interference

Beyond mean-field dynamics of ultra-cold bosonic atoms in higher dimensions: facing the challenges with a multi-configurational approach

Exploring the impact of dimensionality on the quantum dynamics of interacting bosons in traps including particle correlations is an interesting but challenging task. Due to the different

Correlated dynamics of ultracold bosonic atoms in three dimensions : Facing the challenge with a multi-configurational approach

In general, the understanding of microscopic physical processes in many-body systems needs an investigation starting from first principles, especially taking the impact of dimensionality and

Single ion thermal wave packet analyzed via time-of-flight detection

A single 40Ca ion is confined in the harmonic potential of a Paul trap and cooled to a temperature of a few mK, with a wave packet of sub-μm spatial and sub-m s−1 velocity uncertainty.
