The aim of the present study was to investigate the predictive value of MMP (matrix metalloproteinase)-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9 levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome for death, readmission with HF (heart failure) or recurrent MI (myocardial infarction) and to compare them with established markers, NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) and the GRACE (Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events) score.
