  • In R. Miranda’s textbook Algebraic Curves and Riemann Surfaces, the proof of the Riemann-Roch theorem occupies chapter VI. This proof appears to be based on the one presented by J.-P. Serre in Groupes algébriques et corps de classes, chapitre II. The main difference is that the notion of répartition used by Serre and otherwise known to number theorists under the name adèle is replaced by that of Laurent tail divisor, which is unknown outside of Miranda’s text.
