Using a combination of N-body simulations with different resolutions, we study in detail how the concentrations of cold dark matter halos depend on halo mass at different redshifts. We confirm that halo concentrations at the present time depend strongly on halo mass, but our results also show marked differences from the predictions of some early empirical models. Our main results are that the mass dependence of the concentrations becomes weaker at higher redshifts and that at z ≳ 3, halos of…
The redshift dependence of the structure of massive Λ cold dark matter haloes
We use two very large cosmological simulations to study how the density profiles of relaxedCDM dark halos depend on redshift and on halo mass. We confirm that these profiles deviate slightly but
The Clustering of Massive Halos
The clustering properties of dark matter halos are a firm prediction of modern theories of structure formation. We use two large-volume, high-resolution N-body simulations to study how the
Environmental dependence of cold dark matter halo formation
We use a high-resolution N-body simulation to study how the formation of cold dark matter haloes is affected by their environments, and how such environmental effects produce the age dependence of
The Dependence of Dark Halo Clustering on Formation Epoch and Concentration Parameter
We examine the age dependence of dark matter halo clustering at an unprecedented accuracy using a set of seven high-resolution cosmological simulations, each with N = 10243 particles. We measure the
Concentration, spin and shape of dark matter haloes: Scatter and the dependence on mass and environment
We use a series of cosmological N-body simulations for a flat A cold dark matter (ACDM) cosmology to investigate the structural properties of dark matter haloes, at redshift zero, in the mass range 3
A large amount of observations have constrained cosmological parameters and the initial density fluctuation spectrum to a very high accuracy. However, cosmological parameters change with time and the
The mass–concentration–redshift relation of cold dark matter haloes
We use the Millennium Simulation series to investigate the mass and redshift dependence of the concentration of equilibrium cold dark matter (CDM) halos. We extend earlier work on the relation
Halo Profiles and the Concentration–Mass Relation for a ΛCDM Universe
Profiles of dark matter-dominated halos at the group and cluster scales play an important role in modern cosmology. Using results from two very large cosmological N-body simulations, which increase
We present a numerical study of dark matter halo concentrations in ΛCDM and self-similar cosmologies. We show that the relation between concentration, c, and peak height, ν, exhibits the smallest
The mass–concentration–redshift relation of cold and warm dark matter haloes
We use a suite of cosmological simulations to study the mass–concentration–redshift relation, c(M, z), of dark matter haloes. Our simulations include standard Λ-cold dark matter (CDM) models, and

The Power Spectrum Dependence of Dark Matter Halo Concentrations
High-resolution N-body simulations are used to examine the power spectrum dependence of the concentration of galaxy-sized dark matter halos. It is found that dark halo concentrations depend on the
Structure of Dark Matter Halos from Hierarchical Clustering
We investigate the structure of the dark matter halo formed in the cold dark matter scenario using N-body simulations. We simulated 12 halos with masses of 6.6 × 1011-8.0 × 1014 M☉. In all runs, the
The Structure of cold dark matter halos
High resolution N-body simulations show that the density profiles of dark matter halos formed in the standard CDM cosmogony can be fit accurately by scaling a simple “universal” profile. Regardless
Profiles of dark haloes: evolution, scatter and environment
We study dark-matter halo density profiles in a high-resolution N-body simulation of aCDM cosmology. Our statistical sample contains 5000 haloes in the range 10 11 10 14 h −1 M⊙ and the resolution
Resolving the Structure of Cold Dark Matter Halos
We examine the effects of mass resolution and force softening on the density profiles of cold dark matter halos that form within cosmological N-body simulations. As we increase the mass and force
Concentrations of Dark Halos from Their Assembly Histories
We study the relation between the density profiles of dark matter halos and their mass assembly histories using a statistical sample of halos in a high-resolution N-body simulation of the ΛCDM
A Universal Density Profile from Hierarchical Clustering
We use high-resolution N-body simulations to study the equilibrium density profiles of dark matter halos in hierarchically clustering universes. We find that all such profiles have the same shape,
On the Origin of Cusps in Dark Matter Halos
Observed cusps with density profiles ρ ∝ r-1 or shallower in the central regions of galaxies cannot be reproduced in the standard cold dark matter picture of hierarchical clustering. Previous claims
The Density Profile of Equilibrium and Nonequilibrium Dark Matter Halos
We study the diversity of the density profiles of dark matter halos based on a large set of high-resolution cosmological simulations of 2563 particles. The cosmological models include four scale-free
Statistical Properties of X-Ray Clusters: Analytic and Numerical Comparisons
We compare the results of Eulerian hydrodynamic simulations of cluster formation against virial scaling relations between four bulk quantities: the cluster mass, the dark matter velocity dispersion,
