We are fortunate to be commemorating the 450th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation at a time when the detailed monographs of Hans Volz, Erwin Iserloh, and Klemens Honselmann are at hand to provide a mass of information about the immediate circumstances of Martin Luther's initial intervention on indulgences.
