We report a leading-order calculation of radiative ${}^{7}\mathrm{Li}$ neutron captures to both the ground and first excited state of ${}^{8}\mathrm{Li}$ in the framework of a low-energy effective field theory (Halo-EFT). Each of the possible final states is treated as a shallow bound state composed of both $n+{}^{7}\mathrm{Li}$ and $n+{}^{7}\mathrm{Li}^{*}$ (core excitation) configurations. The {\it ab initio} variational Monte Carlo method is used to compute the asymptotic normalization…

Halo EFT calculation of charge form factor for two-neutron $${}^{6}\text {He}$$ 6 He halo nucleus: two-body resonant P-wave interaction

We take a new look at $$^{6}\text {He}$$ 6 He halo nucleus and set up a halo effective field theory at low energies to calculate the charge form factor of $${}^{6}\text {He}$$ 6 He system with

Electric structure of shallow D-wave states in Halo EFT

We compute the electric form factors of one-neutron halo nuclei with shallow D-wave states up to next-to-leading order and the E2 transition from the S-wave to the D-wave state up to leading order in

Models, measurements, and effective field theory: Proton capture on Be7 at next-to-leading order

We employ an effective field theory (EFT) that exploits the separation of scales in the p-wave halo nucleus $^8\mathrm{B}$ to describe the process $^7\mathrm{Be}(p,\gamma)^8\mathrm{B}$ up to a

Neutron transfer reactions in halo effective field theory

Direct reaction experiments provide a powerful tool to probe the structure of neutron-rich nuclei like beryllium-11. We use halo effective field theory to calculate the cross section of the

Electric Properties of One-Neutron Halo Nuclei in Halo EFT

We exploit the separation of scales in weakly-bound nuclei to compute E2 transitions and electric form factors in a halo effective field theory (EFT) framework. The relevant degrees of freedom are

Three-Body Halo States in Effective Field Theory: Renormalization and Three-Body Interactions in the Helium-6 System

In this paper we study the renormalization of Halo effective field theory applied to the Helium-6 halo nucleus seen as an $$\alpha $$α–neutron–neutron three-body state. We include the $$0^+$$0+

Finite-size effects in heavy halo nuclei from effective field theory

Halo/Cluster Effective Field Theory describes halo/cluster nuclei in an expansion in the small ratio of the size of the core(s) to the size of the system. Even in the point-particle limit,

Radiative 3He($\alpha , \gamma$α,γ)7Be reaction in halo effective field theory

Abstract. In this work we study the radiative capture of 3He on 4He within the halo effective field theory (EFT) framework. At leading order the capture amplitude comprises the initial state s-wave

How well do we understand 7Be + p → 8B + γ? An Effective Field Theory perspective

Bayesian analysis was applied to constrain all the NLO-EFT parameters based on measured S -factors, and found tight constraints on the S -factor at solar energies, which is half of that previously recommended.

Matching effective few-nucleon theories to QCD

The emergence of complex macroscopic phenomena from a small set of parameters and microscopic concepts demonstrates the power and beauty of physical theories. A theory which relates the wealth of
