We investigated the ability of surrogate markers of tissue-specific insulin resistance (IR, Matsuda IR, Adipocyte IR, Liver IR) to predict deterioration of hyperglycemia, incident type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular events in the Metabolic Syndrome in Men (METSIM) Study.
