ChIP coupled with next-generation sequencing (ChIP-seq) has revolutionized whole-genome mapping of DNA-binding protein sites. Although ChIP-seq rapidly gained support in eukaryotic systems, it remains underused in the mapping of bacterial transcriptional regulator-binding sites.
