A specific and reproducible procedure for the determination of fructose, glucose and sucrose in cane molasses by gas chromatography is described. Due to the overlapping of the various anomers of fructose and glucose, correct preparation of a standard sugar mixture is critical. Evaluations of the linearity of detector response and recovery of standards added to the molasses were made.
