Normal and manometric and profilometric values and normal endosonographic features of the anal canal are required for evaluation of pathological conditions such as slow-transit constipation, anorectal outlet obstruction, and Hirschsprung's disease, status after surgery for imperforate anus, and other anal abnormalities.
