Two cases of feed poisoning in dairy cattle were brought under observation in autumn, 1954. From the results of our survey the poisoning cases1 were found to be due to the malt sprout supplied as food. After investigation of microflora in the poisonous malt sprout and toxicity of the isolated micro-organisms, the micro-organism responsible for poisoning was identified as Aspergillus oryzae var. microsporus2.
