Proprotein convertases (PCs) have been implicated in tumor cell invasion by processing a variety of substrates including matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). PACE4, a member of the family of PCs was shown to enhance mouse skin carcinoma progression by increasing tumor cell invasiveness.
