We studied the molecular diversity of β-glucosidase-encoding genes, microbial biomass, cellulase, N-acetyl-glucosaminidase, β-glucosidase, and β-galactosidase activities in the rhizosphere and bulk soil of two maize lines differing in nitrogen use efficiency (NUE).
