ABSTRACT We introduce both a new 3D mesh generator and mesh optimization procedures. The purpose of the meshing technique is to achieve a specified size mesh inside the volume while ensuring the quality of the mesh with respect to a specified element shape criterion. The procedures developed make natural local use of the advancing-front algorithm used to mesh the whole volume.
