Neurological disorders similar to parkinsonian syndrome and signal hyperintensity in brain on T1-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) images have been reported in patients receiving long-term total parenteral nutrition (TPN). These symptoms have been associated with manganese (Mn) depositions in brain.
