During complex ecological investigations on Lake Jarun (and neighbouring interstitial underground waters) which took place in 1984 and 1985, macrozoobenthos was also studied. Its qualitative and quantitative composition in a large part depends on the degree of trophy and saprobity of the water. Specially examined were the oligochaetes and chironomids larvae, which besides having a large numerical percentage also occurred with a large number of species. In addition, the representatives of other…
Limnological study of Serbian oxbow shaped Lake Srebrno, with special emphasis on the benthic community composition and structure
TLDR
Investigations included qualitative, quantitative, and saprobiological analysis of bottom fauna communities, physical and chemical analysis of sediments and determination of chlorophyll a concentration, as well as saprobic and trophic status analyses.
Limno-Ecological Properties of Deep Reservoir, Karakaya HEPP, Turkey
Karakaya Dam is the third largest dam lake and the second biggest electric generation plant in Turkey . CCA, UPGMA were explained that the effects of selected environmental factors on the composition
Croatian freshwater oligochaetes: species diversity, distribution and relationship to surrounding countries.
TLDR
The Croatian oligochaete fauna was most similar to that of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Austria, and species richness varied between habitat types, with rivers as the most speciose habitats.
Notes and new data on the distribution of a non-native oligochaete: Branchiura sowerbyi (Beddard, 1892) in Croatia
TLDR
The goal was to present the first comprehensive overview of the distribution of this potentially invasive species in Croatia as a basis for the future monitoring of the species distribution.
Macroinvertebrate responses to regime shifts caused by eutrophication in subtropical shallow lakes
TLDR
It is concluded that the abrupt disappearance of macrophytes during the regime shift means the loss of key habitat for biota associated with aquatic plants and ecological restoration projects should be designed to reduce the nutrient concentration of floodplain lakes enough to allow re-establishment of a clear-water lake equilibrium dominated by aquatic microphytes.

Studies on the Biology of the Tubificidae (Annelida, Oligochaeta) in a Polluted Stream
TLDR
The Tubificidae are a family of aquatic organisms which have not yet received much attention from freshwater and marine biologists but their respective habitats, distribution and seasonal biology have now been investigated.
Oligochaete Communities in Pollution Biology: The European: Situation with Special Reference to Lakes in Scandinavia
TLDR
For several oligochaete species which are known to be cosmopolitan or near to it, the ecological requirements do not seem to differ much from one part of the world to another.

Summary Fewer species and more individuals of Tubificidae were present in the soft sediments of a polluted ditch than in the relatively unpolluted Bere Stream. Changes in width frequency of
Structure of Tubificid and Lumbriculid Worm Communities, and Three Indices of Trophy Based upon These Communities, as Descriptors of Eutrophication Level of Lake Geneva (Switzerland)
In 1977, the nearshore zone of Lake Geneva (Switzerland) between isobaths 10 and 40 m was divided into 17 areas. In each of these, 19 to 26 sediment cores were collected, the tubificid and
Pollution Biology — The North American Experience
TLDR
Very few traditional laboratory tolerance tests have been done, but a start has been made on the investigation of the activity of worms in recycling sediment contaminants such as metals.
