Macrozoobenthos as an Indicator of the Level of the Trophy and Saprobity of Lake Jarun
@article{Kerovec1989MacrozoobenthosAA, title={Macrozoobenthos as an Indicator of the Level of the Trophy and Saprobity of Lake Jarun}, author={Mladen Kerovec and Vladimira Tav{\vc}ar and Milan Me{\vs}trov}, journal={Acta Hydrochimica Et Hydrobiologica}, year={1989}, volume={17}, pages={37-45} }
During complex ecological investigations on Lake Jarun (and neighbouring interstitial underground waters) which took place in 1984 and 1985, macrozoobenthos was also studied. Its qualitative and quantitative composition in a large part depends on the degree of trophy and saprobity of the water. Specially examined were the oligochaetes and chironomids larvae, which besides having a large numerical percentage also occurred with a large number of species. In addition, the representatives of other…

Croatian freshwater oligochaetes: species diversity, distribution and relationship to surrounding countries.
- Environmental ScienceZootaxa

The Croatian oligochaete fauna was most similar to that of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Austria, and species richness varied between habitat types, with rivers as the most speciose habitats.

Macroinvertebrate responses to regime shifts caused by eutrophication in subtropical shallow lakes
- Environmental ScienceFreshwater Science
- 2015
It is concluded that the abrupt disappearance of macrophytes during the regime shift means the loss of key habitat for biota associated with aquatic plants and ecological restoration projects should be designed to reduce the nutrient concentration of floodplain lakes enough to allow re-establishment of a clear-water lake equilibrium dominated by aquatic microphytes.
