We propose an experimental scheme to detect macroscopic Klein tunneling with spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs). We show that a nonlinear Dirac equation with tunable parameters can be realized with such BECs. %in a simple configuration to generate the artificial spin-orbit coupling. Through numerical calculations, we demonstrate that macroscopic Klein tunneling can be clearly detected under realistic conditions. Macroscopic quantum coherence in such relativistic tunneling is…

Spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates in a double well
We study the quantum dynamics of spin-orbit (SO) coupled Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in a double-well potential inspired by the recent experiment developed by NIST group. We focus on the regime
Double Barrier Resonant Tunneling in Spin-Orbit Coupled Bose—Einstein Condensates
We study the double barrier tunneling properties of Dirac particles in spin-orbit coupled Bose—Einstein Condensates. The analytic expression of the transmission coefficient of Dirac particles
Simulating the Klein tunneling of pseudospin-one Maxwell particles with trapped ions
Abstract We propose an experimental scheme to simulate and observe the Klein tunneling of relativistic Maxwell particles with trapped ions. We explore the scattering dynamics of the pseudospin-one
Majorana fermions with spin-orbit coupled cold atom in one-dimensional optical lattices
We propose an alternative experimental scheme to detect the non-Abelian statistics of the Majorana fermions (MF) with a trapped atomic bosonic gas subject to a spin-orbit coupling in 1D optical
Long-range superfluid order in trapped Bose-Einstein condensates with spin-orbit coupling
In this paper we explore the low-dimension long-range superfluid order in the trapped Bose-Einstein condensate driven by spin-orbit coupling at any finite temperature. With the help of the Bogoliubov
Spin and field squeezing in a spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate
TLDR
This report investigates spin and field squeezing of the ground state in spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate and finds that the presence of the detuning enhances the occupation number of harmonic trap mode, while it suppresses the spin and the field squeezing.
Maxwell Quasiparticles Emerged in Optical Lattices
We construct a two-dimensional tight-binding model of an optical lattice, where the low energy excitations should be described by the spin-1 Maxwell equations in the Hamiltonian form, and such linear
Landau Quantization for Λ-Type Neutral Atoms in an Homogeneous Spin-Dependent Gauge Potential
We investigate the quantum dynamics of neutral atoms subject to a uniform spin-dependent gauge field. In particular, we analyze a simple experimental scheme to generate the Landau quantization in a
Orbit-induced spin squeezing in a spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate
TLDR
It is demonstrated that an effective spin-spin interaction can be generated by controlling the orbital degree of freedom of the ultracold atoms, and numerically that the phase factor of the prepared initial state affects dramatically on spin squeezing.
Dynamics of spin–orbit-coupled cold atomic gases in a Floquet lattice with an impurity
In this study, we have studied the quantum tunneling of a single spin-orbit-coupled atom held in a periodically modulated optical lattice with an impurity. At the pseudocollapse points of quasienergy
