Airborne LiDAR systems are integrated with a positioning and orientation system including GPS (Global Positioning System) and INS (Inertial Navigation System) to measure the exterior orientation of the sensors. LiDAR systems are frequently integrated with digital cameras in recent years. The digital camera imagery is directly oriented by using the platform navigation solution of the integrated GPS and IMU system. The direct sensor orientation approach, used for georeferencing of imaging sensors…

Orientation of Airborne Laser Scanning Point Clouds with Multi-View, Multi-Scale Image Blocks

TLDR
Two methods for solving relative orientation problems are presented and it is revealed that the accuracy of a relative orientation increased when more images were included in the block, and that correct rotations were the most difficult to detect accurately by using the interactive method.

Self-Calibration of Non-metric Medium Format Digital Camera in Aerial Photogrammetry with LiDAR

TLDR
This paper describes simultaneous adjustment for an efficient self-calibration in aerial digital photogrammetry using geometric data based on trifocal tensor besides photogrammetric data and distance data from LiDAR.

Orientation and integration of images and image blocks with laser scanning data

TLDR
The aim of this thesis was to create methods for solving relative orientations between laser scanning data and imagery that would assist in near-future applications integrating laser scanning and photogrammetry.

Influence of System Calibration on Direct Sensor Orientation

TLDR
In this paper, the influence of the system calibration to the direct sensor orientation and improper data handling will be shown.

Improvement of Lidar Data Accuracy Using Lidar-Specific Ground Targets

With recent advances of lidar technology, the accuracy potential of lidar data has significantly improved. State-of-the-art lidar systems can achieve 2 to 3 cm ranging accuracy under ideal

LIDAR MAPPING SUPPORTING EARTHQUAKE RESEARCH OF THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT

To support earthquake research, a dedicated LiDAR survey was conducted to map an approximately 1,000 km segment of the San Andreas and San Jacinto Faults in southern California in the spring of 2005.

GEOMETRIC CALIBRATION OF THE DIGITAL LARGE FORMAT AERIAL CAMERA ULTRACAM

The evaluation of the geometric performance of the novel digital large format camera UltraCamD is the topic of this presentation. We describe the concept of the geometric calibration by means of a
