The MSC catalogue contains data on 612 physical multiple stars of multiplicity 3 to 7 which are hierarchical with few exceptions. Orbital periods, angular separations and mass ratios are estimated for each sub-system. Orbital elements are given when available. The catalogue can be accessed through CDS (Strasbourg). Half of the systems are within 100 pc from the Sun. The comparison of the periods of close and wide sub-systems reveals that there is no preferred period ratio and all possible…

The Updated Multiple Star Catalog
The catalog of hierarchical stellar systems with three or more components is an update of the original 1997 version of the MSC. For two thousand hierarchies, the new MSC provides distances,
FROM BINARIES TO MULTIPLES. I. DATA ON F AND G DWARFS WITHIN 67 pc OF THE SUN
Data on the multiplicity of F- and G-type dwarf stars within 67 pc of the Sun are presented. This distance-limited sample based on the Hipparcos catalog contains 4847 primary stars (targets) with 0.5

Statistics of hierarchical systems containing three or more stars are continuously improving. The Multiple Star Catalogue (MSC) is currently the most comprehensive catalogue of multiple-star
The long-period companions of multiple stars tend to have moderate eccentricities
We examined the statistics of an angle between the radius vector of a visual companion of a mul- tiple star and the vector of its apparent relative motion in the system. Its distribution f() is
Statistics of spectroscopic sub-systems in visual multiple stars
A large sample of visual multiples of spectral types F5-M has been surveyed for the presence of spectroscopic sub-systems. Some 4200 radial velocities of 574 components were measured in 1994-2000
A catalogue of multiplicity among bright stellar systems
We consider the multiplicity of stellar systems with (combined) magnitude brighter than 6.00 in Hipparcos magnitudes. We identify 4559 such bright systems (including the Sun), and the frequencies of
Discovering New Spectroscopic Components in Visual Multiple Stars
A radial velocity survey of the components of visual multiple stars has been done since 1994 with the correlation radial velocity spectrometer. About 50 spectroscopic sub-systems have been
From Binaries to Multiples. II. Hierarchical Multiplicity of F and G Dwarfs
Statistics of hierarchical multiplicity among solar-type dwarfs are studied using the distance-limited sample of 4847 targets presented in the accompanying Paper I. Known facts about binaries
Tertiary companions to close spectroscopic binaries
We have surveyed a sample of 165 solar-type spectroscopic binaries (SB) with periods from 1 to 30 days for higher-order multiplicity. A subsample of 62 targets were observed with the NACO adaptive
MULTIPLICITY AND PERIOD DISTRIBUTION OF POPULATION II FIELD STARS IN SOLAR VICINITY
We examine a sample of 223 F, G, and early K metal-poor subdwarfs ([m/H] 02 yr–1) at distances of up to 250 pc from the Sun. By means of our own speckle interferometric observations conducted on the
