ABSTRACT Chronic inflammation underscores the pathogenesis of a range of human diseases. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) elicits strong pro-inflammatory responses in macrophages through the transcription factor NF-&kgr;B. The epigenetic mechanism underlying LPS-induced pro-inflammatory transcription is not fully understood.
