Abstract A first-principle dynamical model of a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) reactor for hydrogen extraction from a gaseous mixture is presented. Then, a model for a whole four-reactor PSA unit, including the related valves and ducts, is introduced: this employs the singlereactor model and a global fluid-dynamical description; sequence control and continuous control are designed and some simulation results are discussed.
