A review of pre-WWII documents in the Spanish Foreign Affairs Ministry has discovered a hitherto unknown Enigma modification, called “Model Z”, capable of encrypting numbers only. This model seems to be unknown to the Enigma community. The few known details concerning Enigma Z are here outlined.
