The new mineral, teruggite, 4CaO.MgO.68z0r.AszOs. 18HzO, was collected at the Loma Blanca borate deposit, province of Jujuy, Argentina. It occurs in white cauliflowershaped nodules associated with inyoite, calcite, ulexite, aragonite and realgar, in a spring deposit. These minerals are irregularly distributed through a local valley fill and are mostly epigenetic but partially contemporaneous.
