In the democracy literature, middle class has been considered a potent agent of the sociopolitical transition toward democracy and the cornerstone of democratic rule. This article offers a structural perspective on the relationship between middle class and democracy. This article uses the method of structural equation modeling to test the structural relation between a country's size of middle class and its level of democracy.
