Glucocorticoids are widely prescribed for their anti-inflammatory properties, but have 'Cushingoid' side effects including visceral obesity, muscle myopathy, hypertension, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and hepatic steatosis.
