This study analyzed the composition, richness, diversity, and structure of Pieridae butterflies in the Coello river basin (Tolima), Colombia, located in the Central mountain chain of the Colombian Andes. 11 sampling stations were established, ranging in altitude from 433 to 3600 m. Samples were collected in March and October 2003 using three different habitats for sampling (meadow, edge, and forest). Collections were made from 08:00 to 16:00 h in variable length transects, using entomological…

Altitudinal and seasonal distribution of butterflies (Lepidoptera, Papilionoidea) in Cerro Bufa El Diente, Tamaulipas, Mexico
TLDR
The first report of the altitudinal variation in richness, abundance and diversity of butterflies in the northeast of Mexico is reported, highlighting the importance of the conservation of this heterogeneous habitat and establishing reference data for the diurnal Lepidoptera fauna of the region.

TLDR
A survey of diurnal butterflies was carried out in four different crops, in the Nataima Research Center (Tolima, Colombia) during April and May 2009, finding that the richness and diversity values were higher in crops with more heterogeneous vegetation.
