We construct supersymmetric AdS5 × Σ solutions of D = 7 gauged supergravity, where Σ is a two-dimensional orbifold known as a spindle. These uplift on S4 to solutions of D = 11 supergravity which have orbifold singularites. We argue that the solutions are dual to d = 4, N\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document…

D4-branes wrapped on a spindle

The supersymmetric AdS_{3}×Σ solutions of minimal gauged supergravity in D=5 are constructed and it is shown that the central charge for the gravity solution agrees with a field theory calculation associated with D3-branes wrapped on Σ.

Employing the method applied to M5-branes recently by Bah, Bonetti, Minasian and Nardoni, we study M2-branes on a disk with non-trivial holonomies at the boundary. In four-dimensional U(1)4-gauged

M5-brane sources, holography, and Argyres-Douglas theories

We initiate a study of the holographic duals of a class of four-dimensional N\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb}

Leigh-Strassler compactified on a spindle

We construct a new class of supersymmetric AdS3 × Y7 solutions of type IIB supergravity, where Y7 is an S5 fibration over a spindle, which are dual to d = 2, N\documentclass[12pt]{minimal}

The joy of factorization at large N: five-dimensional indices and AdS black holes

We discuss the large N factorization properties of five-dimensional supersymmetric partition functions for CFT with a holographic dual. We consider partition functions on manifolds of the form

A tale of (M)2 twists

We study the parameter space of magnetically charged AdS2×WCPn−n+1\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb}

Supersymmetric spindles

In the context of holography, we analyse aspects of supersymmetric geometries based on two-dimensional orbifolds known as spindles. By analysing spinc spinors on a spindle with an azimuthal rotation

Branes wrapped on orbifolds and their gravitational blocks

We construct new supersymmetric AdS2 × M4 solutions of D = 6 gauged supergravity, where M4 are certain four-dimensional orbifolds. After uplifting to massive type IIA supergravity these correspond to

D4-branes wrapped on four-dimensional orbifolds through consistent truncation

We construct a consistent truncation of six-dimensional matter coupled F (4) gauged supergravity on a cornucopia of two-dimensional surfaces including a spindle, disc, domain wall and other novel

Anomalies, black strings and the charged Cardy formula

We derive the general anomaly polynomial for a class of two-dimensional CFTs arising as twisted compactifications of a higher-dimensional theory on compact manifolds ℳd, including the contribution of

Toric geometry and the dual of ℐ-extremization

A bstractWe consider d = 3, N=2$$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ gauge theories arising on membranes sitting at the apex of an arbitrary toric Calabi-Yau 4-fold cone singularity that are then further compactified

A geometric dual of c-extremization

A bstractWe consider supersymmetric AdS3 × Y7 and AdS2 × Y9 solutions of type IIB and D = 11 supergravity, respectively, that are holographically dual to SCFTs with (0, 2) supersymmetry in two

Accelerating black holes and spinning spindles

We study solutions in the Pleba\'nski--Demia\'nski family which describe an accelerating, rotating and dyonically charged black hole in $AdS_4$. These are solutions of $D=4$ Einstein-Maxwell theory

Twisted D3-brane and M5-brane compactifications from multi-charge spindles

We construct families of supersymmetric AdS3 × Y7 and AdS3 × Y8 solutions to type IIB string theory and M-theory, respectively. Here Y7 is an S5 fibration over Σ, while Y8 is an S4 fibration over Σg
