Lymphogranuloma inguinale, caused by Chlamydia trachomatis serovar L1–L3 is rare in patients from western countries but needs yet to be considered in the differential diagnosis of genital ulcers. We report a case of a young male patient without any eventful travel history who presented with a genital ulcer at the sulcus coronarius and painfully enlarged lymph nodes in the right inguinal area. The typical clinical picture and serum IgM and IgG antibody titers of 1:16 and 1:512, respectively…

Lymphogranuloma venereum emerging in men who have sex with men in Germany.
TLDR
The increase in the number of LGV cases and the high HIV prevalence in LGV patients are of great public health concern, and existing efforts to promote awareness and prevention of sexually transmitted infections and HIV need to be strengthened.

TLDR
LGV is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the L1, L2 and L3 serotypes of Chlamydia trachomatis and most cases have occurred in men having sex with men, and most patients have presented with proctitis.
Identification of lymphogranuloma venereum‐associated Chlamydia trachomatis serovars by fluorescence in situ hybridisation – a proof‐of‐principle analysis
We describe a proof‐of‐principle evaluation of a fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) procedure to identify Chlamydia trachomatis serovars L1–L3, the causative agents of lymphogranuloma
Chlamydia trachomatis Infection Modulates Trophoblast Cytokine/Chemokine Production1
TLDR
It is demonstrated that Ct infects trophoblast cells to form inclusions and completes the life cycle within these cells by generating infectious elementary bodies, and suggests that the effect of a Chlamydia infection on trophoplast secretion of chemokines and cytokines involves both activation of innate immune receptors expressed by the trophOBlast and virulence factors secreted into the troPHoblast by the bacteria.
Lymphogranuloma venereum
TLDR
The clinical picture and high titers of serum IgG and IgA antibodies pointed to infection with Chlamydia trachomatis pointed to infections among men who have sex with men (MSM) in western countries.

Infiltrative, ulcerative, and fistular lesions of the penis due to lymphogranuloma venereum.
TLDR
Those cases of lymphogranuloma venereum in which the infection had led to the development of preputial infiltrates, penile lymphangitis and bubonuli, with or without fistulae, and more or less chronic ulcerative processes are considered.
Characterization of Chlamydia trachomatis omp1 Genotypes among Sexually Transmitted Disease Patients in Sweden
TLDR
The omp1 genotyping method had a high reproducibility and could be used for epidemiological characterization of sexually transmitted Chlamydia infections.

The major chlamydial infections are conjunctivitis and pneumonia in infants and urethritis, cervicitis, salpingitis and ocular infection in adults. Tetracyclines are usually the drugs of choice for
