Three series of new ultraviolet-emitting Ca(9)Y(PO(4))(7):Ln(3+) (Ln = Ce, Gd, Pr) phosphors were synthesized, and their luminescence was investigated. Under vacuum ultraviolet excitation Ca(9)Y(PO(4))(7):Ce(3+) phosphors emit UVA light with one broad emission centered at 346 nm, on account of the 5d(1) → 4f(1) transition of Ce(3+) ions; the optimal doping concentration of these phosphors is 0.2 mol. Ca(9)Y(PO(4))(7):Gd(3+) phosphors show a strong 4f(7) → 4f(7) transition and a sharp UVB…

UVB-emitting Gd(3+)-activated M2O2S (where M = La, Y) for phototherapy lamp phosphors.
TLDR
Phosphor materials activated with the Gd(3+) ion may be suitable for phototherapy lamps, which are used to treat many types of skin diseases such as psoriasis, vitiligo, or scleroderma.
Site Occupancy Studies and Luminescence Properties of Emission Tunable Phosphors Ca9La(PO4)7:Re (Re = Ce3+, Eu2+).
TLDR
The structure, site occupancies, and photoluminescence (PL) properties of Ce3+- or Eu2+-doped Ca9La(PO4)7 phosphor showed that the phosphors are pure phases, and the tunable color can be obtained by adjusting doping concentration and altering temperature.
Enhanced upconversion luminescence in NaGdF4:Yb,Er nanocrystals by Fe3+ doping and their application in bioimaging.
TLDR
XRD, XPS, ICP-AES and EDS data demonstrated successful incorporation of Fe(3+) ions in NaGdF4:Yb(3+)/Er(3%) nanoparticles, and a layer of silica was coated onto the surface of UCNPs to improve the biocompatibility.
Photoluminescence investigations on a novel green-emitting phosphor Ba3Sc(BO3)3:Tb3+ using synchrotron vacuum ultraviolet radiation
Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectroscopic properties of undoped and Tb3+-doped Ba3Sc(BO3)3 were investigated by using synchrotron radiation. The Tb3+-doped Ba3Sc(BO3)3 sample crystallized in a

Improvement of Luminescence Degradation of PDP Blue Phosphor with New UV Phosphor
BaMgAl 10 O 17 :Eu 2+ phosphor (BAM:Eu 2+ ) is a useful blue phosphor for plasma display panel (PDP) and fluorescent lamps, but is liable to be degraded by vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) irradiation. We
Luminescent properties of Pr3+-sensitized LaPO4:Gd3+ ultraviolet-B phosphor under vacuum-ultraviolet light excitation
Luminescent properties of Pr3+-sensitized LaPO4:Gd3+ under vacuum-ultraviolet (vuv) light excitation have been investigated. The energy transfer probably occurs from the 5d levels in Pr3+ ions to
