To investigate the modulation of tracheal ciliary beat frequency (CBFt) by purine nucleotides and nucleosides acting on luminal receptors, aerosolized ATP, GTP, AMP-PNP, GMP-PNP, adenosine, and guanosine were each administered separately to the tracheal lumen in eucapnically ventilated, barbiturate-anesthetized beagles.
