  • This paper introduces a new nonlinear observer for state estimation of linear time invariant systems. The proposed observer contains a (nonlinear) cubic term in its error dynamics. The proposed observer is shown to be capable of yielding improved performance while possessing desired robustness properties. The use of nonlinear observer with nonlinear error dynamics for linear systems distinguish the proposed observer from existing literature.
