Hydrophobicity and oleophobicity are highly desirable properties for materials that are used in a wide range of applications. In this context, poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (teflon) is considered to be the “benchmark” low-surfacefree-energy material as it combines water repellence with other desirable properties.
